Glasgow and London-based audit and property adviser Capa has been instructed by Kroll, administrator of The Works, to execute an accounts payable and property audit of the Book Company. The Works has approximately 300 outlets throughout the UK and an annual turnover of £90m.

Glasgow and London-based audit and property adviser Capa has been instructed by Grant Thornton, administrator of Bowater t/a Zenith Windows and Staybrite, to execute an accounts payable and property audit of the Window Company. Bowater have 62 outlets throughout the UK and have a turnover of £80 million.
25 January 2008 Ernst & Young Instructs Capa to Execute Property and Accounts Payable Audits for Ponden Mills
Glasgow and London-based audit and property adviser Capa has been instructed by Ernst & Young, Administrator of Ponden Mills, to execute an accounts payable and property audit of the Soft Furnishing Retailer. Ponden Mills have 150 outlets throughout the UK and have a turnover of £75 million.

Tony Sweeney, director at Capa, said that, by undertaking a rigorous accounts payable audit of all Ponden Mill's outgoings, Capa can identify and recover any transaction anomalies arising from accounting entries, such as duplicate payments, wrong supplier payments, over payments, missed credits, duplicate suppliers, dormant suppliers and VAT errors.

He said, "Whilst an accounts payable audit will identify, validate and recover lost profits quickly and efficiently by improving and increasing bottom line results, our property audit will encompass a comprehensive review of the terms and conditions of leases and bring to light any instances where the landlord's agent has made an overcharge in relation to rental service charges and insurance."

Glasgow and London-based audit and propety adviser Capa has been instructed by Grant Thornton (London office), Administrator of Mice Group Plc, to execute a property audit of the Marketing Solutions company.

31 October 2007 PWC instructs Capa to do a Property Audit and Rates Management on Choice UK Plce
Capa the Glasgow and London based audit and property advisers, has been instructed by the London Office of Price Waterhouse Cooper LLP, Administrator of DVD Retailer, ChoiceUK Plc to carry out a full property audit on the group and to manage all rates payments and liabilities.

Optical Express, for which Capa has been retained to operate a continuing programme of acquisitions and disposals on the 200 store portfolio, is embarking on a further spate of expansion. Capa has been instructed by the Manchester office of Kroll, acting as Administrator of Provence Holdings and administrative receiver of Provence Commercial Properties, to handle the property and accounts payable audit of the Bolton based pub group.
Provence Commercial Properties owns 23 properties across the UK which are either tenanted or operated as public houses by managing agents. 01 November 2006 Capa Wins Audit Instructions for Hyper Value
Following its purchase of Welsh discount supermarket chain Hyper Value, Hillco, the restructuring company, has instructed Capa to carry out a property audit and accounts payable audit to ensure that no overpayments have been made.

Hyper Value (Holdings) was incorporated in 1980 by its founder, Merthyr Tydfil businessman Ken Rogers. Other assets of the company include the Barry Island fun park.

01 November 2006 J D Sports appoints Capa to dispose of 40 stores
Capa has been appointed by J D Sports, the leading UK specialised multiple retailer of fashionable branded and own brand sports and casual wear, to expedite its store disposal programme.

Capa will handle the disposal of more than 40 of the outlets either through negotiated surrenders or re-leasing to other retailers.

Mike Sheath, Retail Director of CAPA, said: "We have a proven track record of negotiating with landlords to achieve the optimum result for clients and since JD Sports is a major player in the UK retail sector this is clearly a very gratifying instruction for us. 01 October 2006 PWC Instructs CAPA on Property Audit on Homebuy Group
Capa, the Glasgow and London-based audit and property adviser, has been instructed by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, administrator of TV rental company Homebuy Group PLC, to carry out a property audit on the Group.

A provider of televisions and other household-related goods to the general public on a hire-purchase basis, Homebuy's unaudited 2005/06 turnover was £93m and it employed around 1,500 staff throughout the UK. The appointment of administrators follows the inability of the Group to secure additional funding needed to allow ongoing trading.

Trespass, the hugely successful Glasgow-based sports and outdoor clothing manufacturer has instructed Capa to look for 40 High Street outlets to supplement its 22-property factory outlet presence.
01 September 2006 Kroll Appoints Capa on Christies Wholesale's 99p Stores
Capa has been instructed by Kroll, administrator of Christies Wholesale's 99p stores, to carry out an accounts payable and property audit of the firm's 21 shops across Scotland.

In addition, CAPA has been handed a property consultancy remit to advise on the sale of Christie's three freehold buildings and 19 leasehold properties in the event of a buyer not being found for the business.

01 August 2006 Tenon Appoints Capa on Audit for Mikey Fashion Jewellery Chain
CAPA, the Glasgow and London-based audit and property adviser, has been instructed by the London office of Tenon Recovery, the administrator of Mikey, to handle the property and accounts payable audit of the high street fashion and costume jewellery chain.

The jewellery specialist went into administration last month after running into cashflow problems. Tenon closed 14 outlets whilst Amaranth Accessories bought eight standalone stores and eight concessions.

Billabong, the Australian-based surfwear and board company which runs its European operation from Biarritz has retained Capa to undertake acquisitions in principle towns throughout the UK. This has commenced with acquisitions of leasehold properties in Kingston, Plymouth, Reading and Bristol. Various additional sites are also under serious consideration.
16 June 2006 Capa Instructed to Handle Disposal of 110 Global Video Stores
Capa, the Glasgow and London-based audit and property adviser, has been instructed by Tenon Recovery, administrator of Global Video Ltd, to handle the disposal of 110 Global Video stores throughout the UK.

Global Video, the UK's second-largest video chain, went into administration last week with the loss of 19 stores and 75 jobs in Scotland. The Scots-founded firm has suffered trading losses of more than £2.5m over the past two years and around 150 employees were recently made redundant at 40 of the company's 110 shops in the UK. The remaining 70 shops have been sold to a new company, Global DVD, which has been established by former directors of Global Video.
